Johnny Hebda- Summer Update

Johnny Hebda:
Its amazing how fast the summer is flying by.  I cannot believe that it is almost August.  I am currently working with a team in Washington DC.  I like the east coast, except for the humidity.

Sales is such a mentally and emotionally challenging job.  Those reps that are successful have learned to discipline themselves mentally and manage their emotions so that they stay positive and expect success.  Its interesting to observe those reps that are successful and going strong and those that are defeated or struggling at this point in the summer.

I am convinced that in sales--talent means nothing without discipline.  Too many of the students in this generation have never had to work very hard in their life.  They have been given too many handouts and have been "rescued" from difficult situations.  This has in turn made so many of these reps lazy and weak?  Are parents really doing their kids any favors by rescuing them from challenges?

How refreshing it is to find a good employee that is positive, with a good work ethic that doesn't complain.  They are getting fewer and fewer.

Just my thoughts over 7 summers!

The Summer Begins- Johnny Hebda

Well the summer has officially begun.  Oh what fun!  Training first years, the long sleepless nights, the drama, and once in a while a little fun.

Fortunately...I am going to be based out of my favorite city- New York City.  Which actually makes me excited.  I should get to see a lot of Broadway!

One week down.  Now into week two!

Let the sales come!!!!

This has really been a blast.  Its a good cast.  I really do love performing!  I really get addicted to being in shows and musicals.  I would love for any of my friends to come and see it.

Johnny Hebda-

Johnny Hebda's Blogspot

I got to speak with a good friend from the mission recently, Matt Wilhelm.  He was a great missionary and a good friend.  It was great to catch up with him.  My mission to Canada-Halifax really transformed my life and I look back in great fondness to those memories and relationships that I established then.  It really was the best 2 years and sometimes I wish I could put on my name badge and become Elder Johnny Hebda again.  It seems that I was focused on what was most important those 2 years.  It is so easy to get side tracked with all the distractions of today.

I am looking forward to General Conference this weekend.  I definitely could use some direction in my life right now.  The last General conference in October had a profound impact on me.  The speakers are truly inspired men of God.  I also love the music at General Conference.  I always can feel the Spirit so strongly in listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  I had the privilege of singing in the Priesthood Session of conference a few years ago and it was a very amazing experience that I will always remember.

Well the summer is 1 month away!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by.  It will be here again very soon and back to the travels, long days, long weeks, and all the drama of summer sales...I can hardly wait!

Johnny Hebda

Well this is my first time blogging, but I thought it would be good to keep a record of what I have been up to and keep friends and those of you I don't talk with as much up to date with what I have been up to.

I am currently stuck at an airport.  With Spring Break the airports have been slammed.  I am trying to make it into Indianapolis.  And am now going form Salt Lake to Denver to Phoenix to LA to Chicago on the way.  What fun!

I will be doing recruiting and trainings out in the midwest this week with Kevin Adams and Jared Borg.

Here is what I have been up to:

I am currently living in Orem, UT.  Working as Vice President of Sales for Green Pest Services.  We will be running offices in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Washington DC this year.  I plan to spend the majority of my time in New York which I am looking forward to.

I am playing Curly at the Empress Theatre's production of "Oklahoma".  This opens in a couple of weeks which will be fun.  This is an awesome show so anyone in the area should come and see me.

I am still single.  But definitely ready to move out of the single life style soon I have decided.  My brother and sister are both married and my sister, Mary Kay, has a baby named Carter and my brother has a baby on the way.  I am envious of those people that are married and am definitely ready to get our of the Single's Ward.  I am the ward organist in my ward.  I love religious music.  It really brings me closer to God and can bring the Spirit so strongly.

I also recently sang in the Institute Choir at CES broadcast with Elder Tom Perry.  I really loved the arrangement of "Let Us All Press On" that we sang as the closing number.

I have really gotten back into running and working out.  I am at 168 and 12% body fat.  I have been working at this for the past few months and have successful dropped a good 30+ pounds.  I have cut out caffeine, energy drinks, pepsi, and fast food.  That is what was doing it to me.  I am very proud of this and expect to reach my target fitness goals this next month.

Lastly, I am vigorously studying for the GMAT which I expect to take in April.

Well that's a quick update on my life and what I have been up to.   I am going to try and make regular updates.
